Mods, why was the thread closed in the lounge?

I can understand not liking the site where the pic was linked too, but couldn't you have just got the OP to change the opening post like he said he would (ie host it from else where?)

Seemed liked the thread was staying on course etc, rather than detract from the point(question?) the OP was making?

Just as a thought, as it had potential to be entertaining as far as lounge topics go.
