classified prices missing what am i doing wrong

The new classified section is irritating me, where have the prices gone?

I am trying to buy a Porsche and both private cars I am intersted in are missing their prices.

Is it the seller or is it the site or perhaps i am doing something wrong. I am off to autotrader to see if the cars are listed there, but will check back for any advice here.

Are you sure they're missing? I found them very difficult to spot as they are attached to the end of the title for some reason. A very strange choice, that's the last place I'd think to put it!

Looking at used bikes and the prices are very hard to find, if at all.

Where have the prices gone ? Please, please put a link back to the old format adds until you get the new one working.

The price should be in the headline. If it's not, chances are the advertiser chose not to display the price. This is an option that was available in the old site, as well.


I'm out of the office, but I do believe we'll be making price more prominent and hopefully adding some information to inform you guys when it's a "price on application" advert.

thanks for replying, why would any private seller want to put POA for "normal PH Type cars"? do they want to be inundated with people emailing or phoning for the price? I doubt it.

I am sure you are all fed up with people highlighting the deficiencies of the new site, I for one liked the old style and i am apparently not alone.

The PH site was a market leader and brand in its own right why change it to being just another autotrader site?

Oh on your advice I did re check the ads i was looking at and both were missing the prices

Well we do appreciate the feedback, both good and bad, as long as it's constructive. And we'll be reacting to it as soon as we can.

We don't see it as "another Autotrader" site. We see it as the old site reskinned with more features. You can still browse the site the same way you used to. My personal suggestion is to skip the search facets to start with and browse around. From there you can drill down further, but keep in mind that if the seller hasn't provided the detail then you won't get results for it. It works the same way at eBay and other major sites. No data, no result.


The price on application feature is popular more with dealers and high-end cars. If you give me the advert ID's for those two ads, I can verify if they're POA or not. Also, if you're genuinely interested, just contact the seller. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you.

Agreed, just clicking on F355 under Ferrari and all the prices that were there last week are gone.... Changes could be good if teething sorted though.

Also, if you display all models of a certain car (Ferrari, F355 for instance). When you click on sort by Price High to Low - nothing happens. How do you get the sort to update the results?

I have contacted the private seller who confirmed that he did put the price on the car when he placed the advert about 2 weeks ago, and that until i called he was not aware of it being missing.

Once again iam on the Aston Martin Classified, private white V12 no price. I know the price because it used to be there. Cars missing as well. Vantage s shows other models. Really dont like the new system.

I noticed that too, the "sort by" bits seem to do nothing.

I too have received e-mails and calls asking how much my 240Z is ...the price has just disappeared. Do PH respond or answer... that's a rhetorical question, I believe we know the answer!

Wow, it's hard work to look up any model of car now, and it seems when I finally see cars that fit the categories, there are precious few there ... are there actually fewer due to the problems experienced recently (advertisers holding off posting adverts) or is there an issue with the database search?

I'm a software developer myself, and the usability of this system has plumetted.

Trying to think of something positive, but sorry guys, we would have pulled the new version days ago ... scratch that, we would never have put it live in the state it's in now. It surely does not fit the specification.

And this is the second time it's gone live as well! It's been pulled before.
