Classifieds email notification

I have on sevreral occasions attempted to set up email notifications for ads appearing matching my criteria.
Firstly, I never seem to recieve any, although new ads have appeared which match, so am I being a numpty and not ticking a box which should be ticked, if so which one and where is it?
Secondly, it says that you can discontinue these emails at any time. I my search for the answer to question one I also haven't been able to find any page which would allow me to chose question two?
Does one of the tick boxes on my profile need ticking or doesn't the above facility actually work or even exist?
