I had a thread deleted because of 12h
BTW - the rules need to be in an easy to find place - they are most definitely not - at present they hide in the 'small print' in a pale colour - I would suggest a sticky at the top of the first topic list as a sensible home. It just took me 20mins to find them (searching for forum rules, rules and other patterns and only finding them after reading other posts on the topic and reading the 'Terms and Conditions'
I take exception to this - I was not 'thinking of selling up' I was asking what people thought about potentially buying a car with over 100k miles on it - like one I'm looking at - as I can't find any for sale apart from the one I am interested in. I don't want to prompt someone else into gazumping me (as I'm quite excited by the prospect), hence asking what people look for and what thoughts there were on this sort of car. My post was not worded badly and I asked 2 questions which should have made it clear I was considering buying not selling.
frankly I thought this EXACTLY the sort of advice people might ask for on Pistonheads. For a moderator to take this action makes this community seem very petty and unhelpful. I phoned a couple of specialists and had pleasant and helpful conversations with them - something I thought I might get from Pistonheads.
Not very helpful or welcoming.
