Please Mr Haymarket can I note the following for the record...
PS as the owner of an Electric Car for the commute (pius 36 cylinders and 15.7 litres of car engines not including 21 motorcycles which I cannot be bothered to sum) I am concerned that "PistonHeads" will be missing a trick and should therefore start to focus on "EV Performance Heads" or some such similar as going forwards your audience will dwindle
Here endeth the lecture.. comments most welcome here and via PM.
- Like button - yes I know it's an old debate but it negates the reason just to post a comment if you can press the like button. I'm guessing that the Haymarket algorithms add all replies as meaningful statistics which is then fed back to perspective advertisers as response activities and thus boosts sales.. this makes the user experience out of date and non user friendly. We are in 2018 and it's not changed since 2001 when I first joined. Needs an update!
- Block User - Allows the user to decide what content they want to see and negates negative experiences created by users/kids that have zero life or car ownership experience yet post trolling comments "because they can". It makes for a better experience if you can block trolls like Twig the Wonder t
t that don't actually list any of the cars they own and have no experience of them, yet feel compelled and educated enough to reply when they have 1.21 million posts against their profile. Does Haymarket think this is a cool feature by its negation? It looks to me like a clique rating system based on input favouritism. Quality not quantity gents; this is the business model you need to adopt.
- Kinky and Big Al need a Knighthood. Haymarket take note: It's not just the website and advertising that makes a site profitable or successful - it is mostly down to the foot soldiers that moderate the site. Without this you would have a huge bun fight 24/7 and these silent warriors need recognition

1 / No thanks. I don't care who or how many people like a post1 / Like button -
2 / Block User -
3 / Kinky and Big Al need a Knighthood.
2 / A nice idea but it would make reading some threads very hard when blocked users got quoted, etc. I just scroll past gibberish.
3 / At the minimum.
I would really like to see Pistonheads have an increasing number of adverts, and clickbait links.
It would be nice if the format and performance of the site became progressively worse.
If we could have the more fake virus redirects that would be good.
Under no circumstances should we be able to remain logged in.
In an ideal world, the site will become virtually unusable.
Once Haymarket has rung every last penny from the site, I'd like to see it sold to an ambitious but ultimately incompetent new owner, who will bravely try to keep it running until eventually the domain gets parked or redirected to a different car website or a holding page saying, "Go Daddy! This domain is for sale".
It's always best to align one's hopes with reality.
