Where we were down for about an hour and half there?

My boss was grateful for the amount of work I got done!

Still pegging the CPU so I'm assuming it just went down and they've not actually fixed anything.

I noticed it went down earlier and when it came back it made my CPU run hot.

Definitely the site, the low parts in the chart is when PH isn't open.

the server's full resource was needed to combine 733 Brexit threads into 1 so there were no CPU cycles left for forum visitors for a while.

What did you use to plot that?

I've had this same problem, and I've had to disable Javascript in my browser to work around it.

Just having this site open in my browser (and no others) useas about 6 - 10% CPU and the fan in my laptop runs continuously until I close the tab.

So there's something wrong somewhere....

Clearly.

I was hoping they took it down to do some upgrades, the javascript being perhaps the most pressing issue.

Not to worry: someone from PH will be along in a week or two to explain the downtime.

As a seasoned sysadmin and web dev I know this too.

Er, JavaScript runs locally on your PC, so, can affect your local machine, but obviously not their servers.

EDIT: Edited for clarity.
