The current volume of the EU negotiations thread in NPE opened on 12 Jan, with the comment that it had taken less than six weeks to complete the preceding volume.

If that was an aside to indicate that six weeks is fast for getting 500 regular pages up, the current volume is (and has been for a while) on track to hit that mark in 24 days (give or take a day).

Does anyone keep a record of what has been the fastest filling volume? And if so, is this it?

Asking for a friend.

I made the comment about the short life of the previous volume. You are correct in that my comment was meant to indicate that discussion was brisk, but it was not based on anything other than my personal observations.

I too have noticed that vol.7 looks to be progressing even faster, it looks like it will be full after less than 4 weeks. How many more volumes before March 29?

One thread would probably last a full decade if you deleted the half dozen members on 'each side' that do nothing but repeat the same tired old arguments over and over and over which add nothing useful to the discussion. The Trump thread is much the same, too.

To be fair, it's 1000 posts of repetition. You could probably just get the main protaganists to do one post each and you'd have 1 page of original content.

Quite. The thread length would instantly drop 25% if all the posts mentioning the NHS bus were removed.

Vol. 7 lasted 4 weeks, let's see how long Vol. 8 lasts.

Yeah, but you have to promise not to delete whole swathes of posts, because that really doesn't help. wink

Thought I would update this thread to add that Vol.9 lasted 3 weeks.

Oh and the reason for the blip in time take for Vol 8 was due to a number of PH'rs taking an enforced holiday from the thread

Is it just that thread that you record the progress of or are there others?

That would be a little sad biggrin

It took less than 5 mins to follow the links to previous threads and make a summary in excel that could be pasted in here as a table

Good - thanks biggrin

Actually I've just remembered I did the same thing on the Trump thread to predict what volume we would be on when he was no longer president after two terms - it wasn't received very positively by some wink

The thread covering the London riots in August 2011 filled it's first volume up in 5 days. I'd say that's pretty quick.
