The age of the moving picture is upon us and no I dont mean the scrolling adverts at the top of the page.
Although I couldn't find a previous thread with a quick search, I'm sure this topic will have been raised before.
So why no video content?
I remember the short lived PHTV experiment but why when even my 12 year old lad can upload a video to YouTube are you not making more use of video on the site?
Video is only going one way and even us lowly tradesmen have more video on our websites than PH do it feels like you've lost interest and starting to get a little left behind.
You only have to look at the likes of CarWow and the thousands of others on YouTube to see how well the topic lends itself to video.
Come on PH get Mr Bird out with his iPhone, chop chop!

Because to do it properly the editorial budget needs to be higher. Haymarket didn’t give PH a big enough budget to run the site properly, let alone enough for videos to be produced. At the moment I expect CarWow are wanting to get the site running properly and then increase the editorial budget. I would of thought whoever the editor is will decide wether to produce videos or not.

It's something the editorial boys will be looking at reintroducing in the future! But it is as the others have said, a previous lack of budget, so it just fell to the sideline unfortunately.
Will give Matt Bird a sliding shunt in the office chairs and tell him to get videoing...
In regards to "PHTV" can we please learn from past mistakes and upload them directly to YouTube rather some other crappy streaming service. Will give Matt Bird a sliding shunt in the office chairs and tell him to get videoing...
I think VideoJug was used last time and then smaller clips were then uploaded to YouTube...

Will be solely YouTube! Videojug I believe was for PHTV, future vids will be of a more traditional approach. I think VideoJug was used last time and then smaller clips were then uploaded to YouTube...

If we're talking of the same PHTV I watched a few years ago on here then it wasn't the video format that was the problem, it was the presentation. The 2 people presenting it were terrible and clearly not cut out for it. It was like PH management had just shoved them in a room with a couple of comfy chairs and ordered to "MAKE VIDEOS!" and that was it, and it showed as they were both visibly uptight, uncomfortable and awkward. No amount of budget can ever fix that. To do videos you need people who are naturally good and relaxed in front of a video camera and can present confidently (Clarkson for example) and also have a likeable persona. Until then forget the videos and stick with the written content.
