Anyone know how to change the settings on the Chrome browser so that I can see all the photos in the adverts please? It'll let me see the first few photos then just a black screen. Many thanks in anticipation.

Classifieds is broken. Has been for years.
It's not you, or chrome - most people are unable to view past the first four or five images. Why anyone would pay to advertise here I don't know.

Probably already a topic in website feedback.

Been like this for ages as said.

I find if you click back out of the ad then straight back in all the photos then show when you click on them.

When I am hunting for a new car, I never even consider looking at the PH classifieds.

Depends on the car I guess. Autotrader adds when looking for a S1 Elise were very generic and just stated FSH etc. PH adds had detailed info regarding the up keep and preventative maintenance etc. I didn't bother with AT after a while.

PH ads are incredibly bad to navigate, search criteria are useless, and there seem to be an awful lot more people advertising cars under the wrong criteria than I found elsewhere.

The specific car I am looking for is irrelevant. I never use PH ads to buy, research, or sell a car.

Hi,

Thank you for raising this.

It is a known issue I believe, but I'll ask where we are with it.

Apologies for the annoyance this causes!

Hi all,

Can those experiencing the problem please send us a bit more info so we can get to the bottom of it?

- What browser and operating system are you using?
- Desktop or mobile?
- Can you send the link to the ads that don't seem to be working properly?

We really appreciate your help on this!

Chrome 73.0.3683.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Windows 10 (64 bit)
Desktop

Just did a search with no criteria at all and picked one at random. Well, not entirely at random, I like McLarens......

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Pics 1-6 are fine, after that, blank. Thumbnails OK.

In Firefox v 65.02 it's only pic 10 which doesn't display for me.

Same advert is fine for me in Safari on iOS

Thank you very much for this!

If anyone else could provide similar - that would be extremely helpful.

Thanks LordGrover! Could you try disabling the ad blockers and see if that gets rid of the problem please?

Tried with uBlock Origin disabled.
1. Was prompted about cookie use
2. Didn't go blank until image 10 (two further)

For the record though, it's unreasonable to expect anyone to disable their protection to view adverts paid for by vendors, so whether it worked or not is moot.

Agreed, the idea of disabling the adblocker/other extensions is just to isolate the issue... many thanks for all the detailed reports btw!

I can confirm we are able to reproduce this issue and it's now on our backlog. We will keep you guys up to date on this.

It's only just over a year... I'm sure they'll get around to it.
Sometime.

This issue has been one of my biggest bugbears since returning to PistonHeads.

We've rebuilt the advert details page and are currently testing it on 50% of traffic. Soon 100% of you should be on it.

It looks like this. Images always load. Browse happy. smile

Careful what you wish for...
It looks like a complete rewrite, which will almost certainly introduce more issues that need to be resolved before implemented in the wild.

Appreciate your optimism, LordGrover. wink

It's working well and will be out to 100% soon.
