I'm posting this via Internet Explorer, as Firefox has decided this morning that it won't let me past the cookie warning notice.

I get this far, and it simply doesn't respond when I click the 'yes, that's Ok button':

The same cookie acceptance screen comes up on Internet Explorer, but dismisses fine on there. Tried the usual IT fixes of rebooting the computer, updating Firefox, etc.

Anyone else having this problem?

Hi Equus, I've tried to reproduce this on firefox for mac on both 67.0.3 and 67.0.4 versions and seems to be working fine, which version you running? Pc or Mac? Maybe an odd extension you might be using could be the source of this?

Please let me know if you are still experiencing this issues

Thanks... I'm running 67.0.4, but having spent the morning out of the office, it now seems to have decided to work again, for no apparent reason!

I'd rebooted, updated Firefox, cleared cache and cookies, disabled extensions, and rebooted again before, all to no avail, so the only thing that has changed has been that the computer has had a period of sleep due to inactivity while I was out.

Pain in the arse this. Nothing on IE / Edge. Only firefox. The button seems to click on the others, but it doesnt do anything and page just sits there.

Why is is even asking for cookie acceptance each time? Surely once agreed, that should be it?

I had the same message from about 10pm last night and couldn't shift the screen shown above, no matter what I pressed.

Ended up quickly clicking LOG OUT before that screen came up, then going back in afresh and it worked.

So far. hehe

Same for me on Safari. I find if I quit safari and then relaunch it works, but only if I agree to cookies without doing anything else.

Same problem here on chrome, I had the exact same cookie message on autotrader which cleared no problems but Pistonheads is refusing to budge regardless of whether I'm logged in or out.

Posting this from my phone btw.

I have the same problem on Chrome, but not on Opera.

The problem has been solved for me by deleting the browsing history for the last 7 days.

Also having cookie page issues with chrome on Android. Clearing browser history sorted it, thanks.

As above, please prevent the relentless request in the first place!

Just to add in here, I can get past the Cookie page on PC at work but now, having deleted the cache on my Mac at home, running Safari, I cant get past the page at all.

I get the same problem on my home PC when using Internet Explorer. Clearing/deleting cookies and cache has no effect.
Firefox is OK.

Also get the same problem on work PC using Internet Explorer or Edge, where until just now, I'd never used either to viist Pistonheads site.
Again Firefox is OK.

Just to add, I get the same problem on the Autocar website.
Now I know PH is no longer owned by Haymarket (Autocar), but if you're both using the same software to run the site, particularly the cookie/advertising preferences pop-up....

If you are having this issue in Safari I found the solution was to go into the privacy preferences, then to manage Website Data. Wait for Safari to identify the thousands of web tracking cookies, scroll down to the Pistonheads Cookie and delete it. Then restart Safari. It works for me I don't have the problem anymore

Here is how I fixed this in Internet Explorer - for me all other browsers are OK.

  • When the Quantcast pop up is visible
  • Press F12 to bring up the Developer Toolbar
  • On the left hand side, find the row highlighted.

  • On the right hand side, overtype the word visible with hidden

  • The pop up should vanish immediately.
  • Press F12 to remove the Developer Toolbar
  • Click into a sub-forum and the pop-up will reappear, but the OK button will now work and remove it.
Bit of a faff, and I have no idea why it works, but it does.

May well work with Firefox using Web Developer/Inspector
