Assume it's been removed due to name and shame rules?
Seems a little OTT... Can we have a new thread entitled 'large travel company refusing to give refunds'?
I was just about to post the same.Seems a little OTT... Can we have a new thread entitled 'large travel company refusing to give refunds'?
If this is the reason, I also feel this a little OTT, especially given that conversations are round the openly available stance being taken by the various travel companies.

Hopefully it’s just being pruned for some reason, it would be ridiculous if it was deleted
Indeed, given the press are naming and shaming.https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/apr/22/b...

Those articles are mostly posting facts. The deleted thread had posters posting accusations of lying and dishonesty and other unfounded criticisms.
Plus the press aren’t PistonHeads so have completely different rules about what’s acceptable. The press do all sorts of things that aren’t allowed under the PHs terms and conditions. Like sleuthing, posting personal details, naming and shaming etc etc
https://www.pistonheads.com/rules-of-posting
“Rule 5 Do not name and shame any company or individual, or post content which could cause reputational damage or which could be deemed as libellous or defamatory. To do so puts you at risk of legal action and we may be obliged by law to disclose your personal data.“
That thread had one poster even naming and shaming two different businesses, calling them both liars etc, one of which the thread wasn’t even about and saying he wanted one to go bust and how he was going to target them on social media. All at a time when businesses are suffering due to a global pandemic which isn’t their fault.
Doesn’t sound very fair or reasonable or within the PH rules to me.
I've no issue with it being pruned... people swapping tips and methods to get their claim escalated should be fine.Plus the press aren’t PistonHeads so have completely different rules about what’s acceptable. We had a rare family holiday booked for May which has been cancelled. It's a lot of money to us and I was following the thread for this reason.
Appreciate there are rules and some people went off-topic but the thread subject itself was okay in my eyes. A bit of pruning could probably have cleared up the rule breaking.
Unfortunately this thread was becoming too difficult to moderate with repeated rule breaking, particularly around rule 5:
'Do not name and shame any company or individual, or post content which could cause reputational damage or which could be deemed as libellous or defamatory. To do so puts you at risk of legal action and we may be obliged by law to disclose your personal data.'
As a result we've removed the thread and appropriate action will/or has been taken against members involved. We've no issue with general discussion around processes of claiming refunds from travel companies but naming and shaming is against our rules of posting and not in the spirit of PH.
