I have noticed in the last few months, maybe CV induced, that there has been far more intolerance of other folks views, prob guilty myself wink

Worked my way from a £25 mini, through 17 Lotus, distracted by Ferraris and Pork along the way, Lotus Cortinas, XR2, 3, 4, etc. Cavaliers, Avengers, Jags, BMW, Mercs etc, etc - finally saved sufficient cash for a Mac smile

This place used to be a place of sanctuary for car enthusiasts to share their joy - but it appears to be rather a different place these days. Shame.

Enjoy your motors everyone smile

Well can I be the first to congratulate you on your decision to give up driving and prepare for a wet winter of walking and maybe cycling, it is very public spirited of you smile

I don't think there are many car enthusiasts that use PH anymore. I think they maybe found one of the sub forums looking for something else and stuck around because its quite an active forum.

The last few pages of the YouTuber thread are the real eye opener for me. Bunch of weirdos obsessed with how they make their money and dissecting their income/expenses.

I think its actually a reflection on modern society tbh.

In Teds day, you would always sit laughing your bks off reading the P&P, plus get good assistance on any tech issues.

Nowadays, its all point scoring and general tttery.

Sinbin needs to be bought back, and some more of the older school mods.

NP&E in particular can be a cespit of bile and anger on most days.

Suspect C19 has just given folks more time to get wound up.

Plus- theres a LOT of returning banned members in here of late, trolling away.

The number of threads Ive just switched to ignore beacuse reasonable discussion has gone by the wayside.

Preceded by a bloke with a red flag?

On a more serious note I really do think that a lot of people are frustrated over the current restrictions. This is leading to people being less tolerant and generally a bit angry. That’s not just on PH, it’s everywhere.

I couldn't agree more, which in many ways is disappointing.

Car folk can be found on Sub Forums.

The rest is MumsNet for men.

At least they make it obvious for everyone by keeping exactly the same posting style as the previously departed account so you can identify, ignore, etc, them hehe

Another easy way of spotting them is when you see an account that's only a few weeks old, yet the poster's somehow managed to rack up a few hundred posts in that short period of time - most of which just happen to be in NP&E or in threads with certain subjects and / or posters where they're just baiting for the usual reaction.

Since the Covid furlough / restrictions kicked in, there's certainly been an increase on those accounts over the last few weeks.

Does my head in the amount of folk just sitting there waiting on a post to nit pick or slate.
Trying to make themselves seem superior.

Have to say though, lately the moderation has been dire. I'm pretty convinced there are a few that have mods on tap to pounce on anyone who says something they don't like.

Banned for calling a dog a mongrel anyone ??

I'm quite heartened by the "did you really drive that quickly back in the day" thread.

Not one single "speed kills" sanctimonious bell end has turned up yet.
