Suggestion for "blog" type threads
Discussion
I've created a number of blog type threads myself, and read many more ... it's one of the best bits about pistonheads, watching someone's restoration or build as it progresses. They seem to go down well with the populace.
However, as a 'blog thread' creator, sometimes you spend all these hours creating images, resizing them, uploading them, writing information on progress, and you have no idea if anyone is actually reading the posts. That is, unless people start posting lots of "good job" and "carry on" posts, which then pollutes the story (and it gets boring if people have to do that every update).
Could we have either :
a) a "how many people have bookmarked (watched) this thread" counter ?
b) a "how many people have read this post/thread" counter ?
c) an innocuous "thumbs up" type indicator, like you get on other sites ... take the "fantastic photos" thread for example, I'd like to indicate "bloody hell that's a great photo" without having to fill up the thread with "oooh lovely" posts.
As a contributor, it can be a cold, lonely place otherwise ...
