Can't "watch" threads that start with a news article

I don't have the "watch" option for threads that begin with PH web news article. Ay idea what i need to press to be able to add them to my topics? Don't want top just post a random comment to get it in the list.

Is it not at the very bottom of the article just above thread? It is on my phone.

If not then device and OS details will help.

Google Chrome on Mac OS and on Windows 10.

I've done a bit more clicking to see how it works. It seems if I visit the thread from the news article by clicking on "Join discussion on the forum", the first time I go into the thread only "Reply" is visible. But if I visit the thread directly from somewhere else in the forum, or go back to the news article and repeat the process, I get all three options "Reply", "Bookmark" and "Reply". It is maybe something to do with the Forum detecting whether I'm logged in or not or something?
