I am guessing either Google or PH has altered some code to bypass the adblocker?

I reset it every few months. Seems to be doing its job.

Hmmm, just tried resetting with 'clear private data' but kept saved logins and still the same.

I use Brave in the ipad. I uninstalled the app, then reinstalled and all is now well again, enjoying an ad free existence

If you have your devices linked to the internet via a router look at the Raspberry Pi Hole. Yes, an odd title but it blocks all the ads to my computer, the wife's Kindle, my Roku and Kodi.
It's open source, free and with a very active forum. Can be a bit tricky to set up, but once it's up and running you will never live without it. I haven't had to suffer any ads for years.

Tried removing and reinstalling on iPhone, no difference.
