Still having issues with sort in classifieds

I continue to have the sorting issue in classifieds... using Safari on iPad.

Basically defaults to nearest from postcode (after asking for postcode which I never used to input), when I change to newest added its fine until I actually look at an ad. When I use back button in browser, it sorts on distance again. Somewhat frustrating!

I did look into your issue in the other thread, but I couldn't replicate it so assumed it was fixed.

You can see I

• Search for a BMW
• See results in distance order
• Change to sort by lowest price
• Scroll past the featured ads and click on the £1 ad
• View £1 ad
• Click browser back button
• See I'm still looking at search results sorted by lowest price

The only thing I can think of is that the featured ads are throwing you off?

Exact issue for me is as follows:

Search Private cars only
Search defaults to sort by postcode,never used to do this, always defaulted to newest first
Change sort to newest first
Open an advert, say second page in
Once viewed ad, hit back button
Returns to page two, but now sorting by postcode again... meaning I have to start my newest search again from page 1..

Are you able to replicate that sequence?

I see what's going on and that is really annoying. I'll get an issue raised for us to fix, but since it's Friday it won't be until next week unfortunately.

Thanks to the OP

+1 for experiencing this issue with a recent new default to listing by distance and therefore wanting a postcode before displaying anything. Very frustrating.

The issue of resorting after pressing back button on browser looks to have been resolved, so thank you for that.

However, the default to 'distance nearest' still remains, it's a minor frustration but really most people want a default on newest listed, I'd have thought... can this be put back to how it was as well please?

Hi Pad, I'm glad it's all working better on your end.

We have intentionally made distance the default sort order a few weeks ago so that isn't likely to change, I'm sorry.
