Is a thread on dealer servicing charges permitted?
Discussion
Question arising from a thread in Volvo subforum.
Those dealers frequently get a bad press in here for high service costs. Recent experience suggests, while they're probably not at all cheap, and certainly not the most expensive, other dealers are also imho shockingly expensive on quite simple services.
Would a thread asking people to post experiences be permitted? Would it be against name and shame rules? What else? If permitted what would the ground rules be?
Thanks for consideration of the question.

I don't see any issue with people sharing servicing costs and advice. I guess a prime example being that I recently had my wife's Kia Sportage serviced – called up to book it in and they quoted £290. I told them it was £220 if I booked online, so they matched it.
But if people start posting negative reviews, then that will go against our naming and shaming rule:
Do not name and shame any company or individual, or post content which could cause reputational damage or which could be deemed as libellous or defamatory. To do so puts you at risk of legal action and we may be obliged by law to disclose your personal data.
If the thread is purely to discuss dealer servicing costs be extortionate/overpriced, then I'm going to say no. But if it's general advice on how to get the best service/price, then yes. As always, if in doubt, don't post it.
