Issue when trying to post from iphone

Anyone else have the same issue on iPhone where they type a message, hit the go button and instead of posting, it goes to what’s new/my stuff?

What's weird is it's not every time I post from my iPhone. I thought it might be something to do with the area you can touch the icons extending above the icons in the menu bar at the bottom - so I try to keep the submit button higher.

I'll see if I can shoot a screen recording showing this happening.

Do threads appear with a longer number of pages than you expected?

On my iphone I frequently appear to be logged out with 20 posts/page setting where I actually have 80 posts/page setting

When I go to my stuff it then seems like I am logged back in

I've never tried to reply to a post without going to my stuff first but I will try later

I’m having this too.
If i hit back and then post again it normally works.
Pretty annoying though!

I've reported this to our techies and we've tried to re-create the issue but unfortunately are unable to. There is nothing in our code path that would lead to this redirect so the only logical explanation right now is that you might be accidentally clicking on the other buttons when scrolling down.

If other people are experiencing this and it's happening under certain conditions, then please let us know how to recreate the steps to reproduce the issue.

Definitely happened again this morning when trying to post in the Daily Car Quiz thread, just pinged me onto what’s new when I hit submit on the reply.
Definitely touched the right part of the page!

For what it’s worth, just did it again…and the what’s new button wasn’t near the post button.

My guess is that it’s something to do with touch targets changing size or position when the iPhone automatically zooms in for text input in the ‘message’ text area.

This is our current guess too but haven't been able to reproduce yet so we can work on a fix. Does it happen every single time for you or at random? Also, would you mind sharing the info from this page with us please: https://www.pistonheads.com/support

It appears to be random. I haven't been able to spot a pattern with it. I will say, it's been happening for a couple of weeks before I started this thread.

I’ve been getting this for a few weeks too.

It’s not consistent every time I post, I will try and note when it does and doesn’t occur.

I also have hit Submit when replying and my replies don’t show up in the thread too.

I'm afraid we're still unable to re-create this issue so we cannot provide any fix at this moment in time. Have you tried using an alternative browser?

I’m still having this issue - it may be my imagination, but it’s happening more and more frequently.
