Question about acceptable language?

I don't often post in website feedback but I've just had a post removed from the Liz Truss thread along with a warning that "If you continue to post in this manner, we may have no alternative but to suspend you from posting for a defined period.".

The post was a link to a Daniel Hannan article (just a link no content) and the link and the article contained no bad language.

I did use the phrase "piss take" about the article which wasn't censored.

I'm genuinely unsure why the post has been removed other than if the language is an issue which seems odd as it's very tame and in use everywhere.

Would anyone be able to shed some light please so I don't fall foul of the same thing

I recently had a post removed for allegedly 'circumventing the swear filter'.

My genius method? I typed f**k instead of fk.....

Moderation has gotten really screwy lately. Quite a few people have been suspended / banned for what many consider trivial reasons.

If there was a drivel moderator 90% of the content would get removed.

Crikey, if we could have a universal drivel filter, 90% of media would cease to exist and Gen X wouldn't be able to talk at all.

I got a 30 day ban for calling someone something that the swear filter didn't care to censor. Later I reported somebody for using the same phrase and noticed that although the phrase/post was removed they weren't banned at all. Consistent moderation

If true then three possible outcomes.

A. Mods reacting to a report made by another PHer, someone who must be bitter enough to want to cause you trouble.
B. Moderators are scouring your posts for some reason.
C. You have fallen foul of an automated system that isn't scripted to understand your technique for censoring your language.

But, wait, your post here still stands so it can't be C, unless the code has been refined since!

And now I've had a reply to the Mirror's appalling mistaken photo of Kwasi Kwarteng removed where I simply said "Good way to mark the start of Black History Month" which is something the BBC and other coverage touched on as it was right above the banner.

Could I get a little clarification on what language was considered unacceptable in either post please?

I absolutely get that the mods have a difficult job to do but I'm utterly confused here and I really don't fancy getting banned for making what seem some very minor and comments especially one pointing that what the mirror did was made even worse by the timing of it.

Totally confused by this.

To be honest I'm not really out to hear people grievances about the mods as they have a tough job to do but I've had two posts removed where I have no idea why and I don't fancy being banned for "totting up" or something when I've honestly no idea what could be considered wrong with the deleted posts.

If I'd been rude or offensive to people or gone on some expletive laden rant at least I'd get what it was.

One of them has said before that they just react to reports, especially if there are a few of them.

Which seems pretty bad to me, but there you are. It’s likely there’s a bunch of people stalking PH who think they’re forum police. Look at how quickly someone pops up in any name & shame thread querying the rule breach.

Think it’s more the paid third party mods that react to stuff rather than our own volunteer mods who will read around the post in question to get context.

I imagine some sort of algorithm is used that needs a little fettling.

To answer your question, it looks like the post was removed because you wrote ‘Jesus Christ’ at the end of it; the moderator removed for ‘blasphemy’

I have flagged this and will raise it with Ben as it seems a bit overkill, I wouldn’t worry too much about being banned for it! HTH
