Banned - Reprieve possible?

This is Garyhun here.

I was banned from PH about 6 months ago for posting what I thought was a harmless post on the CV19 thread but which was deemed to be bullying/abuse. It was a reply to a post suggesting a poster was a returned banned poster (yes, I see the irony but I’m not hiding this as this login is just for this post) to which I posted “Dr gotta Dr” or something similar.

Anyways… I really was shocked to get an instant ban for such a post, especially as I’ve been an active and positive contributor for 20 years or so. Is there really no way to give a man a second chance?

Anyways … I’ll delete this account and disappear if that’s the decision but I felt compelled to ask as it’s been my online home for so long and I really can’t be bothered putting myself on the market again to find another match.

Easy to get banned these days, don’t say anything against EVs or their owners Forum’s not what it was, if you’re banned for a month you probably won’t miss it much, I certainly didn’t. Good luck.

Just come back on a new account. Everyone else does and never get banned again. Enjoy the freedom of a new lease of life.
There’s a whole host of new 6/12 month members already rocking up multiple thousand posts. 100% old, banned members.

It’s odd. There’s a few threads where some of the opinions expressed are horrid, shameful, appalling, disgusting, inhumane. Yet the posters get away with it.

Then you post something which perhaps inadvertently breaks a rule you might have forgotten or just weren’t aware of, and boom, gone.

I could do that but there’s a real feeling of injustice in all this and I’d prefer to make a case here and right what I see as a wrong than actively break the rules to get back in like so many do.

The irony is that it’s typically the opinions of “those” posters that result in responses that inadvertently get you banned.

Gotta ask but why should you be treated differently to any other banned members? I am banned from the cv thread for putting opposite views across but such is life!

Seems a bit harsh Garyhun. Obviously only have your version of events but you have given the Mods an opportunity to explain what you did that merited a permanent ban by this post. Good luck…….and keep your opinions to yourself what did you think this place is.

I requested voluntary banishment in 2007 so I could not use PH and instead focus on writing a thesis. I’ve never got my original account back :/.

Nordexpress or garyhun seems to have a very selective memory. No mention of the numerous warnings they received before having a series of suspensions due to the nature of their posts.
