Every time I click on a PH page link, 'cdn.code.haymarket.com' tries to load, and sits there for several seconds grunting and straining. Eventually the page loads, but after a much longer time than if there was no 'cdn.code.haymarket.com' trying to load.
Would somebody be able to grease it, such that it loads faster, or remove it from the equation? I have no idea what it does.

This call is to an injector used to do tracking codes, javascript common classes and handle the display advertising across the site, so all main external calls for the site.We implemented it last week as a CDN (means it deploys the code from a local server to the person requesting the page) and are still evaluating how this is working, so thank you for the feedback.
We have found the cause of the problem which is down to the site statistics tool slowing everything down. This is controlled by an external website so we have no influence over their servers to speed it up.
All the calls to the third party stuff (ad serving, site stats etc) are dictated by Haymarket and have to be called at the top of the page, I am looking into this further and we are considering changing the site stats software too.
So bear with us while we sort this out.

Noticed this being very annoying and sluggish this evening.
So I set my firewall to block the address. Problem solved, PH back to its speedy former self. And no annoying advertising either. It's a win-win - except for Haymarket.
This sort of stuff really should be tested before allowing it to go live, regardless of how impatient the marketing people are. It will only p*ss people off and lead them to resort to their firewalls to prevent the problem permanently.

The two members of the tech team couldn't press F5 quick enough to simulate the load of a top 150 UK website, we will endeavour to practice playing track and field on our Commodore 64 to improve our pressing ability... 
In reality, we did thoroughly test the system but it is hard to test calls from multiple ISP providers which a CDN requires. Also we are affected heavily by the performance of some of the third party sites we use for ads and site statistics and accurately testing those is hard without incurring a huge cost, and cannot account for heavy loads across the internet which are outside our control or testing.
The third party calls were already running on PH before we launched this new method so we would expect them to perform similarly to before. This isn't happening, or they were not working properly before but it wasn't overly noticeable, so we are working with the team who built the new system to find alternative ways to implement it.
