Being able to 'Clone' some peoples login names entirely.

Just stumbled across this in another thread. Its an old and harmless joke to change your login name to something almost identical to anothers name i.e.
someone could post as Oily Nails. or Oily. Nails

However I was just able to post with an identical copy of 2 other members names. I thought you weren't able to do that????

Anyone able to tell me why????

are you sure? I'm pretty sure that is not possible

I can only find one of the names that you changed to and it wasn't identical, you used Bilb, where as the original poster was Blib


eta the other one, CVM there isn't a member with that login, so it would have let you change it

JDMfan has nailed the "how did that happen" bit, so it just leaves it to me to post this warning - While you are busy pretending to be someone else, there is nothing to stop someone from nabbing your original login name!
