I'm not necessarily talking about me, just some of the responses people get to simple threads and questions is wearing a bit thin.
Scrutinising every spelling mistake, grammar error, and simply the superior tones of some of the posters is more irritating to read than attempting to decipher text speak!
I don't understand why people feel the need to respond to threads at all if they don't like what's being asked or discussed?
The recent thread from the Irish girl who, for no apparent reason, was called all manner of names and pictures she posted closely analysed for every little detail which could be made in to a slight pun at her expense, is a recent example of what I'm talking about.
Sometimes I wonder if the site is big enough for the egos that reside here.
Pistonheads has, and will no doubt continue to lose, people who have genuine contributions and knowledge to add to worthwhile discussions.

Now there I agree with you.Nothing winds me up more than comments on a thread along the lines of "what's the point of this thread?".
Just don't post! If others agree with your diagnosis, it'll die!
Mind you, I don't think PH is the worst: the ratio of sanctimony to posts on the Autocar forum is far, far worse. Dare to say anything vaguely controversial about anything, and you'll get flamed instantly; all the regular posters seem to hate each other.

I've only just seen this, where do they come from? 
Grammar, spelling, punctuation and not using txt spk is important on PH I'm afraid. Always has been, always will be.
Being able to shrug off a liberal dose of sarcasm always helps too. There are some idiots, but they either sort themselves out or come unstuck in the end.
