I want the boat forum back

I want the boats only forum back.

In 2 pages there are only 5or 6 threads about boats,the rest are planes and didnt spot a train...out of 40 odd threads..

I remember a year or so ago when the boat forum was on its own,it was busy,now its empty.Weve all gone to YBW forum!!!!

I am also sure that most of the plane guys dont want boats mixed in.


Please ,please can I have the boat forum back.

I am sure that Boats would have more than that in a week!!!!!

How? You said there aren't enough boat posts, so post some, thus negating the multitude of plane pics... A simple, yet elegant solution, I feel. Certainly better than the lets split the already split forums into further splits...

I want it back for the following reasons:

I liked it as it was.
It was a busy forum.
It is now full of mainly Plane posts.[not my cup of tea but nothing wrong with them]
Many boaty types dont bother posting or even looking anymore.
There are other sections that are not very busy that I feel would be better off replaced with a boat only forum.
Most Boats have pistons in their engines and this is pistonheads.
Boats have a huge following[see ybw.com it is almost as busy as PH with 640 odd people logged in at the mo]
I have an interest in both cars, bikes and boats and on the ybw forum, many do not.
This country is supposedly a democracy and I am voicing my opinion.


Personally I dont find PH too fragmented.I have no trouble finding the sections I frequent.I do feel that it would be nice to have Planes and boats separate as it was before!

Totally agree, don't bother looking that much at it these days as there are so many threads about 'cool' planes and walking on the moon...

I'd like a boating only forum as the amalgamated one has too many threads about planes. Not that I have anything against planes or the unnerving knowledge of Eric Mc.

Lets hope the powers that be listen.

Boats have a huge following, much like Bikes....and Cars....and planes.

I know some people think that Ph is fragmented enough.Personally I dont and I have absolutely no problem finding my way around.

There are sections that are used very little and could be used to separate boats and Planes ,if some users are having difficulty or for whatever reason Ph decides that they dont want to increase the number of sections.

I think the feel of the boats, planes and trains forum is about right at the moment as on the front page it is a nice mix of the three, while on their own they would be a much quieter sections.

We will continue to monitor it to see if one category starts to swamp the others, which is our usual measure for creating new forums.

My first argument is that Boats was busy,then it was amalgamated and it is now swamped by Planes.I enjoy the planes occasionally but have to sift through the planes thread to find the boats threads,which are now few and far between. I dont bother anymore.

My other argument is that there are forums that are rarely used and could easily be replaced

I concur. Whilst it wasn't a fast moving forum like GG or P&P, it moved fast enough to make it viable. I hardly ever pop over to the boat plane and train forum these days as I don't really care that the Antanov thingy VbII has a six inch longer wing span than the VaIII variant. Or that the replica Spitfires come with a Chevvy V8 rather than a merlin V12. Ok, so some of it is interesting but boat specific threads soon disappear . Come to that.. How many train threads are there? Granted, I haven't been looking but I seem to remember seeing 1 in the last 6 months.

Please give us back out boating forum.
