Safari problems in classifieds?

Is anyone else having problems? I'm pretty sure it's the classified section that's causing it, I've had problems in the past with flash but am running click to flash now which has sorted things out. Not sure if there's been a recent update or something as I've never had problems with the classifieds before. I'm running Safari 4.1 and can't update to Safari 5 as I'm running OS X 10.4. Any ideas?

What is happening? Is something not loading, are you getting an error or something else?

It just bins Safari completely, all open windows and tabs vanish and after a couple of seconds I get the report problem to apple box. I used to get the same problem before I installed click to flash although it was more intermittent then. At the minute, I can get into the main classified list and if I try to select a model it kills Safari. It seems to only have started doing this in the past couple of days though.

Edit: I've just had another look and it let me into 2 actual adverts before binning it so it's obviously a bit more intermittent than it looked before.

Working perfectly in Safari here, but I don't have a Mac to test it on.

As nobody else has complained, I'm inclined to think it is an issue with something on your computer (possibly click to flash).

Can you try disabling it and see if it starts working? Can you try another browser (such as Chrome) to see if it a Safari issue or related to something else?

I'll have a go at disabling click to flash and see what happens. I'd be happy to download Google Chrome, I've wanted to for a while but it doesn't support 10.4 unfortunately.

I've turned off click to flash and it's working again now, thanks. Only problem is I've now got flash slowing down my computer! I'm still a bit lost about why the flash adverts in the forum didn't affect it but the ones in news and classifieds did? The main thing is that I can go back to ogling cars in the classifieds now though!

I've just spotted this - had a similar problem with the classifieds as well. (Mac user, using Safari) - theres an ad that comes up occasionally and kills flash & takes down Safari...

Haven't managed to isolate which one it is though

Isn't there an ad blocking proxy for macs?
Glimmer rings a bell, but I'm a Win/Linux johnny myself.
