Hows does pistonheads make money?

I completely fail to understand how pistonheads.com makes any money.

Do enough people click through the ads and buy things? These days I never even register the ads nevermind click on anything.

Or do they sell lots of t-shirts and stickers? Are paid classifieds a gold mine?

In addition to that:

Advertising - banners, MPUs etc
Classifieds - Dealer and private
Merchandise - T shirts etc
Partnerships - Driving holidays, Adrian Flux etc

Yes, but you can choose to have a premium ad at cost.

on the front page.

Classifieds can earn a packet via 'privacy' numbers ie. premium rates stuff.

Don't know how they make money but glad they do. My Posting Premium of £3,987.82 made it a bumper month for me for the period 15/6-14/7.

Must start more GP threads in future!

That must just about cover what you have to pay the senior members of the paid-per-post programme that was around in the early days

You have to keep your post/time ratio up though, in order for the accelerator bonus to kick in.
