A new forum room?

I propose Pistonheads adds a new room, especially designed for people car hunting. Every third thread seems to be a "What car, with my budget" type thread, a seperate room would stop the interesting topics from this one, shooting 3 pages back and getting flushed away.

Just an idea, albeit a good one!

I'm fairly sure it's been suggested before, if I remember correctly it was decided that whilst these threads are numerous they don't completely overrun GG and this would just lead to 2 quiet forums and we have enough of those anyway

I can see both sides but the PH guys are pretty good at identifying when a new forum is required

Not sure that it would lead to two quite forums, more like two less manic forums.


If we are not there yet, the perception of a long term poster, is that the number of what £1k, £3k, type threads is far more than even a year ago and almost at that critical mass.


The P&P, even though there have been some spectacular thread moves, especially in the early days, is much better than it was.

It has been discussed before and at the time the decision was made not to split it, but this is not set in stone and it might be time to reconsider.

It's a very big decision though, and one we won't rush into, but all your comments on this thread will be read with interest and taken on board.

I've always tried to avoid asking the 'what car next' question because there are already so many similar threads. I'd feel happier posting were there a separate forum for doing so, but I'd guess the traffic would be way less.

I agree, i don't believe you would get two quiet forums. General gassing will always be busy in my eyes. And i beleieve a room just for "What Car for my budget?" would still create alot of traffic, i'd still check it out.
