Multiple profiles - same as posting under a pseudonym?

One of the rules is that we agree not to:

9. Create multiple profiles for any purpose, e.g. to escape a previous ban or to allow comments which breach our website terms and conditions or these Posting Rules). This also includes impersonating any other person, real or imaginary.

Why then, is it apparently acceptable for "Justayellowbadge" to occasionally post as "Original Poster"?

You are not allowed a second profile, but there was no second profile involved here. It was a simple case of changing login name, in exactly the same way as any member of this site can do and as has happened plenty of times before. A word of warning however.

Should you change your name then your "real" name will then become available.

Somebody could then steal your "real" name

So next time you see "original poster" reply to a thread quickly change your name to justayellowbadge

That may be the case, but there are lots of PH'ers with more than one. I've never found the need myself, but I do know of a few that have. So they can gang up on someone when there's a spat going on, or even have an argument with themselves.

I'd never do that

On a serious note though, if someone crosses the line from joke to genuinely offensive then we will take action, but name changing itself isn't an offence.
