Why does it sometimes not work?

It's a PITA on the long threads - you go back after not having read for a while and it puts you on the last page or much further on than you got.

Frankly I'd rather not have it at all rather than have it not working properly!

How long are you talking about between leaving a thread and returning to it?

I think it goes back to the last time you clicked My Stuff or What's New, not the last time you viewed the actual thread. If you read every thread every time it'll keep up to date but if you miss a thread for a few 'pages' it'll get out of sync.

It shouldn't, the only thing I can think of which might cause this is the "Mark all as read" button in "What's New". Do either of you press this on a regular basis?

When it happens, does it happen to just one thread, or will all the threads take you to the wrong place? You are logged in when it is happening or is it happening when you are logged out?

Logged in. Not all of them.

For example, a couple of days ago it was either the Oakey thread of the chim/new girl thread - put me about 5 or 6 pages further on than I had read, but not at the end. Last night it was the Facebook Fail thread - put me on the last page and I had to go back 5 or 6 pages.

I was about to say I have an example, but it's not quite the same though it is similar.
Chrome 6.0.472.53 beta on Win7 Pro: I'm logged in, as I have been most of the morning.
I've viewed this topic several times this morning: click. The last post I read was Gibo993 at 10:30 but when I returned via 'What's New' the blue bar is below Soovy's post at 10:36.
It's feasible that I was distracted so didn't 'leave' the topic until after 10:36 I suppose, so maybe that's why it's not quite as it should be?

Just now - Schmalex's Affair thread.

Read up to page 6 or 7 last night.

Just saw it on "My Stuff" with "1 2 3 ... 11 12 13 []" after it.

Clicked on the [] to take me to the last viewed page, and it took me to page 11!

Is it possible that PH Mobile is screwing up the pointer to "current page" somewhere? I did read it today on my mobile but onl up to page 8.

That's a thought.
Whenever I go 'back' to my stuff it pretty much every time goes back to an older version on my iphone. I have to refresh the page or 'click' my stuff again.
