'Time' on Edit, but not Original Post..

Why does it show the specific time of an edit to a 'post', but not a time on the original post? I know the time is quite important on an 'edit', but you may aswell keep the time on the original post too?

It's never bothered me that the time disappears from a post after a certain time period, but if it's on the edits from any time period it seems a bit odd?

It works that way because the "Edited By" message is part of the post and as such is static text whereas the time on the post is part of the forum and can therefore change each time the page is loaded.

I suppose that we could store the "edited by" message outside the post so that it could change, but this would be quite a lot of work for a minor gain.
