Interactive Advertisements on threads

Have these always had sound or have I done something differently lately? Ive only noticed them recently. They are really annoying when trying to listen music, they are so annoying I generally stay away from here if im listening to music

There should not be any sound on any adverts on PH. How long have they been doing it and are you in the UK or are you elsewhere?

The fecking JJB (I think?) advert with revolving clothes/shoes is annoying, slows down my laptop and makes it juddery when scrolling up and down the page. 3 month old decent spec laptop as well so its not my computer!

Here is one, there is a volume mute on the top right, however this is dictacted by the sound on your computer, so if you have sound turned on the volume is on in each of these ads.

It happens on both firefox and internet explorer

They shouldn't be playing sound at all, regardless of what the setting is on your computer. I'll pass this on to our ads team to get it removed.

Can you just confirm if you are in the UK or not? This makes a difference to where the ad will be coming from and hence who we need to shout at.

Im in Ireland, the ads are Irish ads so probably explains why its not a UK issue
