Logging me out?

I don't know if I'm just being stupid here and missing something really simple but PH keeps logging me out, never experienced this before and it's getting a bit irritating having to keep signing in? Feel free to tell me I'm an idiot if I'm just being dense

Happens to me but I noticed this is when my IP address changes if I log off the network.

That's an interesting observation, I don't see why it would do that, but it's worth investigating further.

Try clearing your cookies and then logging back in, normally sorts it.

It may just be my Poo home network (which is shared with one other guy), but it's an observation none the less.

I notice it logs me out sometimes when viewing someones profile page and I can recreate the issue maybe 7 out of 10 times.

Thanks for the information, it's all very useful.

Odd that it would do it on just that one page, but I'll take a look and see if it is doing anything differently.

FYI, deleting the cookies seems to have worked for me up until now. Cheers!

Also, when some people link other threads in a thread and it's clicked on, it logs me out. If I close that opened thread without touching any of the others, I'm fine. If all others are closed and that is the only tab remaining, I have to log in again.

Interesting, I can recreate this as well. Also if I am reading say PH and have another tab open with say a news site then select again PH on that 2nd tab it will be logged out but the first page will also logout.

Similar to yours in a way but just me being a plank and not looking what I have already got open in my tabs.

This is because (as far as your computer is concerned) PistonHeads.com, pistonheads.co.uk, www.pistonheads.com and www.pistonheads.co.uk are all completely separate websites with completely separate logged in/out statuses.

This means that if you are logged in on one of them, but follow a link that someone has posted which points to a different version, you will not be logged in on the different version.

If you edit the URL to match the one that you normally use then (as if by magic) you'll be logged in again.

AFAIK, it is not possible to write cookies for domains other than the one you are currently on.
