I just placed this advertisement:

I clicked the "free" button when I went through the process, but that appears to have changed to "premium". But the advert is now live, and I haven't been asked for any money.

What is happening? Is it free, premium, what? I never asked for a premium ad, but now I appear to have one, and haven't been asked to pay?

AIUI Those of us who were PH members before the premium/peasant ad split got free Premium adverts.

Yep, Parrot - as a long-term member of the site you are entitled to free premium adverts on PistonHeads, and thus we don't even let you click Free (standard) when you submit an advert.

Just something we thought as fair to benefit those that had supported PH for so long

How do I report scammers? Already had one fool trying it on:


I came across of your item,i really appreciate it,i am an oceanographer and am currently on the sea at the moment, i am buying the item as a gift for my dad,i want to make it a surprise gift for him,he won't know anything about the gift until they get delivered to him.So i want you to reassure me that the item is in good condition as you have described. I can only pay through PayPal. So please kindly get back to immediately so i can proceed with the payment and after the payment has been done,i have a pick up agent that will come around to pick the Item up immediately after payments.......

If it's via email then the best option is to forward it to adverts at pistonheads.com although our automatic systems will block him pretty quickly regardless.
