PH randomly slow.

Had a quick look to see if this had been brought up before, and didn't see anything.
Every now and again during the day, PH become very slow. Hit reply and wait 30-90 seconds, or go to open a thread and wait another few minutes. Then suddenly it's all fine again.
Other times nothing happens for ages, then I get an old HTML text version of the forum which is horribly broken.
I get the problem a few times during the day, most days.
It happens both at work and at home (work is BT Business Broadband 8Mb and using a PC, home is TalkTalk 20Mb using a Mac).
Any ideas?
