Reading this PH article I realised that I really wanted to see and hear this wonderful vehicle in action.
In my opinion PH's reviews/roadtests/drives etc have developed nicely over the years and are of a good standard. I would love to see you have a go at some short videos, like the kind that Chris Harris has done elsewhere.
Is there any chance of this chaps?

Riggers has just pointed this out to me.
As said, it's a good idea and one that has been discussed many times over the years. Video may well play a part in a few PH features as time goes on, but we have no plans to treat video content in the same way that Autocar or Evo do.
Why? Cost is a factor for a start. It's not out of the question, but regular videos cost money (and you need to factor in a location fee, tracking car, editing time etc) and that adds up over the year.
We also have the time aspect to consider. Editorially PH has a team of 2 full timers (Riggers and Chris-R) with the rest of us pitching in occasionally. To set up a video would mean more time out of the office and the Jag drive that took Riggers a couple of hours to do would end up taking twice as long. To do video content with any regularity would cripple our other work schedules
I'd argue that between us we don't have the presenting/ driving talent to make an interesting video, and if we get a 'presenter' to do it instead it loads the costs even higher.
Finally you have the business objectives of return on investment to ponder.
BUT....
Occasional videos for special features will happen
Hand held footage to demonstrate car noise is possible
A more gritty 'reportage' approach to video is possible

With the advent of quality home recording - both camcorders and even some mobilephones, along with the multitude of video editing software available, along with peoples passion and enthusiasm of making videos - would it be an idea to open the Video Features to PH members?Obviously some will just be horrendously ridiculous and poor quality (read: very amateurish.)
However, some may come through and be quite viable/ informative and entertaining.
With the contacts some members have; would it be an avenue worth exploring?
As with some of the reports being published both on PH and in their specific owners magazine - by the power of ratio and elimination - a handful may come through?
You'd very easily find "respected" members who'd love nothing more but to watch these videos and filter the good from the bad.
It would involve and include the PH membership in with Haymarket - perfect customer relations.
We'd get to see some cars before being officially released to PH (maybe?)

Are you suggesting reader submitted videos that would appear in a separate section?
If so, this feature already exists, but it is rather antiquated. RacingPete is looking at ways to improve this a little later on this year which will make it a lot easier to use.
