Is it just my PC? I've deleted my history and used a different browser yet that ad is still there. The 13th Feb Baftas crap. Can it not die?

If they want to pay us for an ad that is in the past then let them, though if I remember rightly it doesn't do much more than sit there... no annoying sounds or animation. So not sure how it is so annoying?

If you are using FireFox I recommend using 'AdBlock Plus', its a free add-on available from the Mozilla add-on site and blocks 95% of ads on websites (100% on PH)

Not saying that we will do it here... But I wonder when publishers will start putting web content into tags that ad blockers block. For example on PH you allow the first five posts and then if you want to see the rest you have to see the advert.

The increasing use of ad blockers (in a similar way to Tivo did with TV in the States) means that advertisers have to come up with alternative methods to advertise their goods, and for the publishers to stay in business while providing free content.

My take on it would be that they paid for a certain number of views, not for a given length of time... If all the 'views' or 'click-throughs' haven't been used, it will continue to show unless explicitly removed.
