PLEASE can we have some moderation of the constant whining and bickering
about every tiny spelling error and misused apostrophe.
It seems like i cannot read a single potentially interesting thread
without having to mow through a load of posts pointing out errors
or correcting errors or even ranting about the person pointing out the errors AAGGHHHH
Seriously it IS spoiling the forum.
I am perfectly willing to accept that such errors annoy these folk
but please if you can read the post well enough to spot the errors
then the post must be legible yes?
This is a CAR ENTHUSIAST Forum not an English grammar training class.
Hell grant me mod rights and I'LL deal with them. (im here often enough)

I know a fair percentage of it in jest but its just SO tedious.

The majority of PHers received a 'proppur edukashun' and - this might come as a surprise to you - struggle to read phonetically and need words to be written correctly.
This is especially true when a poster doesn't just hazard a phonetic guess at a word but uses the wrong word completely. Break for break, except for accept, and my own 'favourite' of for have.
It might sound like 'I should of used the spell checker.' but it IS 'I should HAVE used the spell checker.' regardless of how the average knuckle dragger pronounces it. The former expression, to the educated, is just gibberish. See also the frequent misuse of there, their and they're. Again those of us who were taught the basics of English read them correctly.
It is not simply not right to read that their are people over they're who ought to know what there doing.

Actually the fact that most posters do use proper language and spelling is what sets PH in a class above almost all other fora I have used, so from me, more power to the S&G police.
Hear hear.Treat it as an opportunity to improve your English language skills. I think it was on here that I learned the correct usage of practice/practise and licence/license
