Threads disappearing from Finance forum

I noticed a couple of threads have recently gone missing from the Finance forum.

The last one was about structured products and seemed harmless enough.

Both threads mentioned the previous sponsors of the forum and we all know things got a bit weird and it's clear certain parties are still monitoring the forums.

I don't want to risk a ban simply for replying on someone else's thread where they happen to have mentioned who some of their current investments are with.

Can we get some clear guidance on what and who can and cannot be mentioned please?

That’s a good question…..I just noticed that one went yesterday.
Felt innocuous enough: I don’t think it was advertising the product being asked about, & indeed several of us pointed out (politely!) the barge pole wouldn’t be long enough to touch it: surely a useful discussion for others who might be curious?

I was the OP and was getting some very useful feedback that I was very pleased to receive.

AND

A very longstanding member whom I DM'ed regardinf the Structured Product suggested that I ask the forum for a little help!

I would suggest that threads are removed because it is felt they breach (or sail very closely to) breaking rule 5 - Do not name and shame any company or individual, or post content which could cause reputational damage or which could be deemed as libellous or defamatory. To do so puts you at risk of legal action and we may be obliged by law to disclose your personal data.

I would suggest that posters discussing sensitive financial information and the businesses that provide this please be mindful that PH does and has always had a strong N&S policy and action would be taken against anyone seen to be violating this.
