Weird apostophe problem?

If I write a post and it has apostrophe's in it, if anyone quotes it, the apostrophe’s disappear and it just leaves a gap?

Using up to date ipad on Safari.

Are the hamsters eating them? They remain in the original post.

The first one is still there but the second one has been replaced with a space as you suggested.

Yep, happening here as well.

Doesn't happen all the time but someone is definitely nicking my apostrophes.

as you type look above the keyboard and the apple product auto correct kicks in and you must override it.

I recently raised this with the site techies, they are looking into it. Nothing g wrong with your devices, it seems to be a PH issue.
All adds to quaint charm of the forum.

It to do with the interpretation of the actual apostrophe symbol and the single quote symbol

Well, every day's a school day!

My keyboard only seems to offer ' or ". Although there's a key at the top left I've never touched which seems to have THREE symbols on it, none of which I know anything about.

I'm none the wiser. My keyboard offers three symbols on one key (to the left of digit 1),

` or ¬ or ¦

Dave`s (key to left of digit 1, which causes this spacing)
Dave's (single quotation mark, which looks correct spacing)
