Is it possible to have another form of quote, for stuff like pc code? In this quote no formatting is applied, so nothing gets converted into smilies etc? Just an idea.

Possibly. What scenarios do you need it for?

It's just a case of in the computing section, some people past code and all the : D get converted into : p into etc. You can't copy and paste from it then, It's a relativly minor thing.

Would be very useful when people post up HijackTHis logfiles etc. and the backslashes go walkabout. I've got round it with escaped backslashes in the past but then the preview doesn't tally with the submitted post. (Unless that's been altered since last time I did it).

Or indeed any explanation involving formatting codes.

But, yes, it would be primarily of use in the Computing forum.
