Probably, but would need more info on how the new format is going to work.
All I have seen is a before & after 1975 cut off.
Myself , I like 1960s stuff , up to Mazda rotary, silk cut Jaguar era's , so there would be something for me to see in both groups (pre & post 1975)
I think I would prefer all in one event, as now, but I understand the reason for a split, as you could end up with too many classes

A quick straw poll amongst the folks we normally go with, is it's a no . Running it every year it loses some of its cache. So thas 10 of us that are a no . We've always liked the mix of old and newish . Have done every classic bar the 1st and every 24 since 97 bar the one no one could attend. Are they being greedy now ?

I’ve just done a straw pole of our group of 10 and it’s also ‘no’ across the board. Carving it up like they have with the split at 1975 just doesn’t work for our group who like to see Cobras GT40s, D-Types, Lola’s, Porsche 917’s and the like but they also love the Group C cars and that era.
The every two year format made it something special but I think that’s now been lost and like the previous poster I think greed has played its part as is the case with pretty much everything these days.

That's possible, Le mans does seem to have been infected with the Silverstone Virus, but as it appears they are selling plenty of tickets each year then there will be no going back
I'm not sure it's (all) greed, I think a lot of it is just being pragmatic.
The Classic started in 2002 when you had 70 races worth if potential cars. Roll on to 2025 and that's now 93 races worth of cars - but the circuit's the same size and length, and there's still the same 24 hours in a day. Making grids 'wider' (greater span of years) doesn't really work as they are already over subscribed and the performance difference starts to become dangerous so the only real option it to add hours. Potentially you could scrap the parade laps and run over 36 hours - but sure the marshals would l, quite correctly, have issues with that or you split them across years/runnings of the event.

They run on track a lot less than in 2014 and 2016. Barely 13.5 hours now I think
Why not have 8 grids/plateaus running 4 times and a full 24 hours - could have run a Group C and another later grid (maybe vary it - endurance legends etc) every 2 years and run parades and other stuff on the Friday. Could even do a bit more on Thursday?

I think it's a yes from me.
The new format will include cars up to 2015 - that opens up a huge number of eligible cars including ten years of GT3 cars that are really evocative for me. I have enjoyed previous events but tended to go and find food when the first two or three grids were running as they just don't mean so much to me.

Mates and I who I go with also had a chat on the ferry home about next year and like you, we did quite like once every 2 years. It was as you say special and doing 1500 miles without a windscreen, while it's fun it's a fair old slog and getting home on the Tuesday I was not keen to drive that car the next day. it's a bit of a shame how they have split it up years wise, but this year there was enough "support" races to keep everyone happy.

Isn't the current generation the first time we've had GT3 cars in the 24h? Was LMGTE before that, LMGT1/LMGT2 before that, LMGTS/LMGT before that...and then before my addition had started.Forums | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
