A clip from the Steve McQueen film, she was still there in the early 90's when we started going. Needless to say we had to solve the mystery. Needless to say we did and needless to say we had to run away from the very cross security guards.

The food selection, whilst in some cases is upmarket, is certainly not as good.

That guy's poulet roti was a bloody life-saver breakfast after an entire night on the lash.

This is me, overcome with emotion - only to be fully revived by chicken way back in 1983...

I certainly miss this:

No better pick-me-up on the way back to camp after some night racing and watching the sun some up over La Sarthe!

And I'd actually say the food, selection, availability, and quality is better than ever. The service and organisation are still a shambles, but it's France so you just shrug your shoulders and move in.

Hell a couple of years ago I found myself telling the young lass in the Champagne tent how to open a bottle of Champagne early in the week a few years back. Got me an impressed nod from the madam in charge (but no discount).
