I’ve done the 24h maybe 7 times and have a pretty good handle on what to do when and where to get etc.

Never done the Classic and heading down Thursday and leaving Monday AM.

Can you share any good tips for things worth going to?

Thanks!

Go to the circuit, that's it, there's no off circuit events like the 24 hours week if that's what you were expecting.
Only itinerary is what you want to see on track as the different classes are running at different times over the weekend.

If you already know the 24-hour event well, one thing you may enjoy at the Classic is taking more time to explore the paddock and car displays without feeling rushed. Some of the smaller support races can also be surprisingly entertaining. I would leave room in the schedule for wandering, as that is often where the best discoveries happen.

Paddock pass is essential.

Track lap is nice if bothered and have ‘qualifying car’.

I narrowed down classes of car I definitely wanted to see running on track. Around that we just spent all our time looking around the car club parking and the paddock. So much variety to see and being so close in the paddock is great.

The racing I think is irrelevant in terms of results, so unlike the 24hrs following any progress on track takes a bit of a back seat.

This year is the more modern stuff on track so perhaps there will be more to follow going around.

Will be interesting next year with focus on older stuff whether there will be same sort of attendance. I’ve only been once when it was a mix of everything. I’d have liked to go this year but would not likely attend next year with it being the older cars. Whilst they are lovely, in isolation I’m not sure they are enough on their own for me.

Appreciate their history, but it’s the group C and early 90’s cars that ignited the interest in the event and what led me to first attending.

I would certainly be aiming for somewhere like Arnage for the night time. Seeing the 935s and BMW M1s plus all the later cars at night will be a sight to behold.

I did find Dunlop chicane good to see the cars moving around a bit under braking and through the chicane. Not quite the ‘like on rails’ look of modern stuff.

This is what we do. Get to Arnage in the afternoon to be there for dusk and into the night

That is exactly what I was wondering - thanks for the advice.

Super helpful

We have traditionally (24h) gone into town for a meal etc. on Friday and then Anrage village in the evening etc.

Sounds like treat it more just like a nice race weekend.

Can’t wait to get stuck into the paddock! Do I need special passes?

Paddock access is a supplement to the standard ticket,
You have to plan your visits as they now restrict access before the race during and after. Each grid has its own paddock but sometimes it seems that they are all off limits
