Finding my way to Houx?
Discussion
Does anyone know what to type into Sat Nav (TOM TOM) to get me as close as possible to Houx campsite? I managed to find it purely by chance last year but don't fancy the prospect of driving all that way again only to spend another hour or so aimlessly driving around looking for the site.
I figure if the sat nav can get me as close as possible then I may start to notice some familiar landmarks..........provided I can part the alcohol induced haze that still hangs over that part of last year!!

Follow the signs is your best bet - when we Tried TomTom it took you through the worst of the around track traffic.
Never, I mean EVER ask anyone for directions. Even if they are staff working on the gate they will never have heard of anything you say... even if they are stood in front of it.
If all else fails get to the main entrance, turn right then 1st left (long way), 1st left (just after you have been under the bridge), left immediatly at the end of the wall (no, really - it IS down there), 1st left (in 20ft).

Agreed, our first Le Mans was many years ago before the current camp sites and the need for tickets. You just went along and pitched up. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and asked someone who looked official "Ou est le camping vert?". He gave us directions which we followed, finished up on the Mulsanne straight and asked some more people at Mulsanne corner, "Ou est le camping vert?" We followed their direction which led us back to the first people we asked. This went on all night until the sun came up, I got my bearings and we found a place to pitch the tent - which turned out to be parking vert not camping vert.
Never trust directions, there are too many people there happy to give you the run around.
