Anybody remember the rain in, I think, 2000? It absolutely hammered down. Thank feck we had a large tent.

When it rains in France, it certainly RAINS.

OK, that's me busy this week end trying to make a double roof on my van... Imagine sleeping in there with heavy rain on the thin metal roof...

Think it was 2001 - my first Le Mans.
I spent the entire weekend in waterproofs but it hasn't put me off - this will be my third year.

And I went down on my CBR 600.. what a year to pick to go down with minimum gear...was doing a ton 50 on the way home in terrential(sp?) rain. Got home after the race by midnight, 400 odd miles and a crossing..firk it was cold.

Hopefully there will only be afew showers but hey its easier to donut in the rain

imho its too soon to be able to tell what the weather will do

and also forecast vary greatly, I doubt itll be a typical british summer even if we do have a few showers!

Three years ago it absolutely lashed down on Thursday lunchtime as we were putting the tents up etc, it was the only cool bit of the weekend. So hot had to sleep in the car with aircon on!

Definately 2001, I remember watching it on Eurosport thinking 'Thank Fk I'm not there. My First LM was 2000 and I dont think it dropped much below 35C all bloody week!

Well I'm an optimist.

1) Long term forecasts are wrong more than right.
2) The odd shower's okay because they make for an interesting race.
3) It looks damned hot so a few showers could be a welcome respite from the heat.

My father is currently house hunting about 50 miles south/south west of Le Mans. Its been baking hot in that area there this week, certainly close to 30c some days.
I will get a "local" weather report early next week and let you know as he is heading up that way for a few days.

And before anyone says it, i tried to convince him to buy closer to Le Mans.....but he didnt take the bait
