What money to take and how!?
Discussion
I'll be a bit more helpful, I am bored and am counting the days until I can get on the ferry (thurs evening).
We always just get euros out at Carrefour or similar, the rate is fine not much worse than you get from a bank, take plenty as you can always use them next year, and the few ATMs at the track have crazy queues and it wastes VDT!

I find that i regularly get better exchange rates with my debit card at an ATM in france that through a money changers at home.
Also, if you have a credit card that does not charge commission on foreign exchanges (my morgan stanley for one) use this wherever you can for petrol / big purchases - keeps the wallet full of folding stuff to give to
I always take cash, ash anything else is a pain in the neck - just remember to keep it safe, either in your wallet or locked in your car.
We tend to reckon 300 euros will do the trick, based on two people per car, unless you want to splurge out of champagne while you you are there...

This is very good advice.
I'll get a wadge of the folding stuff at the port when we land in France on Thursday morning, then most petrol food etc goes onto the crdit card.
This time tomorrow I'll be on my way!!!!
