Getting tickets should be very easy for you - just give them a call, speak French and everything should go smoothly.
Shame the same isn't true if you speak any sort of French to the ACO with a non-French accent. For some reason no-one at the ACO can understand my (admitidly poor) French, but everyone else in Le Mans can - even when half cut at the drivers parade chatting to locals who speak no English (a moment I'd forgotten about until then... happy days).

You can buy general admission tickets when you arrive, there's never
any problem doing this. It's also possible to buy campsite tickets
upon arrival although availability depends on the campsite. You can
always get tickets for the Beausejour campsite (so far) because it's
quite a long way from the "village" area. This year we were able to
buy tickets for Le Houx which is quite central and has power sockets
although you should not rely on being able to do this.
Being French I'd bet you can get tickets for anywhere. A friend of
mine speaks no French and had tried to get tickets at Le Houx with
no success, when I tried half an hour later using my not very good
French a big pile of unsold tickets appeared from under the counter!
Nearly everyone here in the UK pre-books tickets through ticket
agencies although the markup (profit) can seem a little excessive at
times. It's also the case that these agencies do not normally get
confirmation of their ticket allocation until quite close to the date
of the race, so they're effectively selling something they don't yet
have. This is all the fault of the ACO who after all these years really
ought to have a proper booking system.
I hope you make it to the race next year and enjoy yourselves. To
really have a good time think about arriving no later than Wednesday
(especially if you want to get camping tickets on arrival) to soak up
the atmosphere and get into the mood (this means drink lots of beer).
