Monza 8th November 2026

This a bonus, planning this trip now, in via milan, home via turin. Planning to stay close to Milan central and train it up to the circuit and back on the Sunday night, Has anyone done this route and whats the best way? At GP time it manic but for WEC in Nov I wouldnt of thought it too bad.
Have been to Monza a few times now but never came from Milan, always had a car and camped, but too old for that caper now, hence flight in and out and wee side trip the following day to Turin Auto Museum and Italian Job sites before going home.... as you do

I stayed in Milan and trained up to Monza for the 2023 race.Have been to Monza a few times now but never came from Milan, always had a car and camped, but too old for that caper now, hence flight in and out and wee side trip the following day to Turin Auto Museum and Italian Job sites before going home.... as you do

Getting from Milan station (unusually, the area around the station is quite pleasant, with some decent places to eat) to Monza was a doddle, but there were no shuttle buses.
I waited about 45 minutes for a scheduled bus and it was rammed already.
The heat was incredible (like a May day in the UK now!
) and a couple of other British guys and I got off at the edge of the park and walked about a mile in the shade rather than pass out on the overcrowded bus...Getting home was similar - I walked back to the station (took me about 45 minutes as I recall) and there was no real problem getting a train back to Milan.
Driving to the circuit looked little better than bus-ing it (although you'd probably have aircon and that won't be an issue, I suspect, in November!) as we were all stuck in the same traffic.

I did the same back in 2013 for the F1 GP, stayed at a hotel opposite the train station. I have a vague recollection that the train up to Monza stops at a couple of stations near to the track, wifey and I got off and walked to the track. Might be worth checking out the stations and making a choice on which to get off at.

I've always wanted to go to Fuji, but I need to combine it with a longer trip to Japan.Go to Imola - I went to Monza in 2023 and thought Imola would be a bit second-best after that, but I far prefer it as a spectator.
I'm looking forward to Catalunya in October.

Have been to Monza a few times for the F1, never WEC though contemplating it this year as my 8 year-old daughter loved watching the Mini racing at Brands last weekend.
Biassono-Lesmo is the nearest station to the circuit, but do make sure there are trains running to it when the race is on - I found it closed on F1 weekends some, but not all, years. Monza station is about a 45 minute walk to the circuit, through the town centre and then the park. On F1 weekends, it's actually quicker to walk than join the shuttle bus pile-on - and more pleasant.
Don't forget to go up on the old banking to see what racing here was like all those years ago.

I did that pre-kids. Used to stop in Strasbourg overnight. Have also done the train via Paris and flown. It's a long old drive (850 miles from London), but once you're there, you've got the the Ferrari/Lambo/Pagani/Maserati/Ducati factories only a couple of hours away, and Tuscany only another couple of hours from there. Make it a 3 week thing and you'll have a great time.HardtopManual said:
