W213 E Class

Has anyone run one and liked it, I currently have a Superb 280 and after an hour in it it gives me back and leg ache, so wanted something similar in size but more importantly comfortable. It’s likely to be a 220d which is going to offer less shove and a rattley diesel but 18k is my limit so rules out the better petrols.

A 530e wouldn’t be too bad but the fuel tank isn’t the biggest and when towing every mile counts.

For the pump issues ? The one I’ve seen has already had that repaired - but yes it’s normally what I would say about any diesel.

Very well documented issues with the NOx sensors and the pump which comes as part of the adblue tank, and the long wait for available parts on back order, costing many £00's for the sensors and £2k or so for the pump and tank, before fitting.

The car will also leave you stranded once it starts the dreaded countdown to not starting when the issues arise, which they will on a regular basis.

However many owners have the adblue system deleted which does solve the issue but is illegal. but probably not picked up at MOT time.

Modern Mercedes are no longer built as they used to be, they ran out of granite to "hewn" them from

I've had an E400d for a while now & 25k in with no adblue issues as yet.

I've had of people having issues with those that have had the tank replaced under warranty.

Some were out of warranty but after some crossed words, Mercedes came (these cars had full service history) good & covered the cost.

I don’t think the CLS is type approved for towing. It’s a shame there aren’t more petrol estates about

The CLS is rated at 2100kgs braked.

My E class on 20" rims was by far the most uncomfortable ride I've experienced, it shook me to the core on our local cratered roads.
