Misfire and now won't start
Discussion
Has a slight misfire so changed plugs. Car is a GTO3R very low mileage.. Took car out and misfire still there intimidatingly.rev needle would go AWOL, flickering off and then off the rev counter. Hesitating and then ok for a min or so then issue back.drove for about 10 miles home, and it got Progressive got worse then ran really rough. Managed to limp home on a very lumpy running engine. Car died luckily out house and now will not start. Unfortunately obd port is a db9 9 pin and obd2 fault reader is 16 pin so I've had to order an adapter which is going to take a couple weeks to arrive.any suggestions on what the issue may be? I'm initially thinking coil pack but now that it won't start at all is making me think it may be something else. Anyone has this problem?

Mine started doing something similar a few times; drive for a few miles and it would start mis-firing and juddering and so on. After a few miles however it would be OK again.
The dealer sorted, and they said it was water in the plug wells, so water gets in but can't get out. The dried it all out and after that it never did it again.
Regarding the OBD2 port; Its a 9 pin plug (as you have said), but i don't think its ODB2. I had the Noble software on an old laptop, and you connected with a serial cable. ie you can't just get a 9 pin to OBD2 converter and use a OBD2 reader.

Thanks for the reply. The car never goes out and it's only done 120 in the last year. It's garaged in a dry garage,so can't be water in the plug wells, also changing and gapping new plugs, all coil leads were bone dry and actually quite hard to pull off. This was doing the problem before I changed plugs although it was very intermittent.

Can't be water then. The other thing i recall is having a faulty lambda sensor at one time, but I can't remember what the outcome of that was.

Regarding the lead I have ordered a 9 pin bd9 pin to 16 pin obd2 lead to go into a reader, are u saying it won't work?
As i understand it, the ECU (made by MBE), isn't OBD2 compliant, i.e. its using a bespoke data protocol as opposed to now, when all ECUs have to be OBD2. So an OBD2 reader can't read the ECU.So only the Noble PC software will work. Im pretty sure that is the case.
